What does 🇵🇾 Paraguay Flag mean?
Red, white and blue horizontal stripes, with a different emblem on each side: the national seal on the front and the treasury seal, a lion with a cap of liberty, on the back. It is one of very few national flags with two different faces. Paraguayans celebrate independence on 14 and 15 May and share the flag with ice-cold tereré and Guaraní phrases.
Technically, 🇵🇾 is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters 🇵 🇾, which spell the region code PY. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters PY instead – the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipient’s phone.
🇵🇾 Paraguay Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
