What does ๐จ๐ซ Central African Republic Flag mean?
Four horizontal stripes of blue, white, green and yellow are cut by a red vertical band down the middle, and a yellow star shines in the upper corner. The design combines the colours of the French tricolour with pan-African ones, with red as the shared blood that binds them. Central Africans use it to show pride at home and in the diaspora and to follow the national football team.
Technically, ๐จ๐ซ is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐จ ๐ซ, which spell the region code CF. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters CF instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐จ๐ซ Central African Republic Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
