What does 🇦🇱 Albania Flag mean?
A bold black double-headed eagle spreads its wings across a deep red field, echoing the banner of Skanderbeg, the 15th-century national hero. Albanians at home, in Kosovo and across the diaspora use it on Flag and Independence Day, 28 November, for football matches, and alongside the two-handed eagle gesture to show pride in their roots. Travellers pair it with the Albanian Riviera and mountain villages.
Technically, 🇦🇱 is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters 🇦 🇱, which spell the region code AL. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters AL instead – the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipient’s phone.
🇦🇱 Albania Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
