What does 🇧🇫 Burkina Faso Flag mean?
Red over green horizontal bands with a yellow five-pointed star in the centre, in the pan-African colours. The country’s name is usually translated as “land of upright people”. The flag appears in posts about FESPACO, the major pan-African film festival held in Ouagadougou, the Stallions football team, and Burkinabè pride at home and abroad.
Technically, 🇧🇫 is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters 🇧 🇫, which spell the region code BF. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters BF instead – the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipient’s phone.
🇧🇫 Burkina Faso Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
