What does ๐ฆ๐ธ American Samoa Flag mean?
A white triangle edged in red points from the fly into a dark blue field, and on it a bald eagle grips a Samoan war club and a fly whisk, symbols of state power and the authority of traditional chiefs. American Samoa is a US territory in the South Pacific, and its people share the flag to celebrate Samoan culture, Flag Day festivities in April and the many islanders who star in American football.
Technically, ๐ฆ๐ธ is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐ฆ ๐ธ, which spell the region code AS. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters AS instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐ฆ๐ธ American Samoa Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
