What does ๐พ๐ช Yemen Flag mean?
Three horizontal stripes of red, white and black in the Pan-Arab colours. Yemenis celebrate Unity Day on 22 May, marking the 1990 union of north and south, and share the flag for heritage, Yemeni coffee and honey, mandi and the old towns of Sanaa and Shibam. The dragonโs blood trees of Socotra also bring the flag into travel posts.
Technically, ๐พ๐ช is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐พ ๐ช, which spell the region code YE. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters YE instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐พ๐ช Yemen Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
