What does ๐ป๐ฆ Vatican City Flag mean?
A square flag split vertically into yellow and white, with the crossed keys of St Peter, one gold and one silver, beneath the papal tiara on the white half. Vatican City is the smallest country in the world, and the emoji appears in posts about the Pope, the Catholic faith, St Peterโs Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and trips to Rome.
Technically, ๐ป๐ฆ is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐ป ๐ฆ, which spell the region code VA. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters VA instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐ป๐ฆ Vatican City Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
