What does 🇹🇬 Togo Flag mean?
Five horizontal stripes alternating green and yellow, with a red square in the upper hoist bearing a white star. The five stripes are often linked to the country’s regions. Togolese people celebrate Independence Day on 27 April, and the flag appears with the beaches and markets of Lomé, the Sparrow Hawks football team and Ewe phrases.
Technically, 🇹🇬 is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters 🇹 🇬, which spell the region code TG. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters TG instead – the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipient’s phone.
🇹🇬 Togo Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
