What does ๐ต๐ฒ St. Pierre & Miquelon Flag mean?
A golden ship sails across a blue field, with a vertical band at the hoist showing the Basque, Breton and Norman flags in honour of the settlersโ origins. This local flag is used alongside the official French tricolour, as the islands are a French collectivity off Newfoundland. The emoji appears in posts about ferries, fishing heritage and a little piece of France in North America.
Technically, ๐ต๐ฒ is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐ต ๐ฒ, which spell the region code PM. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters PM instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐ต๐ฒ St. Pierre & Miquelon Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
