What does ๐ฑ๐ท Liberia Flag mean?
Eleven red and white horizontal stripes with a blue square in the corner holding a single white star, a design modelled on the US flag. Liberia was founded by settlers who included freed African Americans and declared independence in 1847, celebrated each year on 26 July. Liberians use it for national pride, football legend George Weah and the Lone Star national team.
Technically, ๐ฑ๐ท is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐ฑ ๐ท, which spell the region code LR. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters LR instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐ฑ๐ท Liberia Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
