What does ๐ฎ๐ท Iran Flag mean?
Green, white and red horizontal stripes with a red emblem at the centre, and the phrase โAllahu Akbarโ repeated 22 times in stylised script along the edges of the green and red bands. The emoji is used for Iranian heritage, Nowruz, the Persian New Year at the spring equinox, football and travel to Isfahan or Shiraz. It also labels the Persian language, Farsi.
Technically, ๐ฎ๐ท is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐ฎ ๐ท, which spell the region code IR. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters IR instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐ฎ๐ท Iran Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
