🇬🇳Guinea Flag Emoji

What does 🇬🇳 Guinea Flag mean?

Three vertical bands of red, yellow and green in the pan-African colours, the mirror image of Mali’s flag. The colours are linked to sacrifice, the sun and the country’s wealth, and its vegetation. Guineans celebrate Independence Day on 2 October, marking 1958, and share the flag for the Syli National football team, griot music and the highlands of Fouta Djallon.

Technically, 🇬🇳 is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters 🇬 🇳, which spell the region code GN. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters GN instead – the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipient’s phone.

🇬🇳 Guinea Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
