What does ๐ฌ๐ซ French Guiana Flag mean?
As an overseas region of France, French Guiana officially uses the French tricolour. A local flag, split diagonally into yellow and green with a red star at the centre, is also used to represent the territory. The emoji appears in posts about rocket launches from the Guiana Space Centre at Kourou, the Amazon rainforest and one of the longest Carnival seasons anywhere.
Technically, ๐ฌ๐ซ is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐ฌ ๐ซ, which spell the region code GF. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters GF instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐ฌ๐ซ French Guiana Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
