What does ๐จ๐พ Cyprus Flag mean?
A white field with a copper-coloured map of the island above two crossed green olive branches, a symbol of peace between its communities. The copper recalls the islandโs ancient mines; the metalโs name is often traced back to Cyprus itself. Cypriots mark Independence Day on 1 October, and visitors pair the flag with Paphos, Ayia Napa, halloumi and Mediterranean beaches.
Technically, ๐จ๐พ is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐จ ๐พ, which spell the region code CY. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters CY instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐จ๐พ Cyprus Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 2.0 in 2015.
