What does ๐ซ๐ท France Flag mean?
Known as the tricolore, Franceโs flag has three equal vertical bands of blue, white and red, with blue at the hoist, and dates back to the Revolution. It is everywhere on Bastille Day, 14 July, and whenever Les Bleus play, and it fills posts about Paris, Provence, croissants and wine. It also labels French in language apps and bios.
Technically, ๐ซ๐ท is not a single character: it is the pair of regional indicator letters ๐ซ ๐ท, which spell the region code FR. Apps that support flags combine the two letters into a flag; Windows does not draw country flags, so on Windows you see the letters FR instead โ the emoji still arrives as a flag on the recipientโs phone.
๐ซ๐ท France Flag is an emoji from the Flags category (country flags), added in Emoji 0.6 in 2010.
