What does ๐ Watermelon mean?
A juicy slice of watermelon with red flesh, dark seeds and a green rind. It is the emoji of summer itself: barbecues, beach days, picnics and hot afternoons when nothing else sounds good. Many people also use it as a symbol of solidarity with Palestine, because the fruitโs red, green, white and black echo the colors of the Palestinian flag. Unlike ๐, which shows a whole pale melon, this one is unmistakably the summer slice.
๐ Watermelon is an emoji from the Food & Drink category (fruits), added in Emoji 0.6 in 2010.
