What does ๐ Lemon mean?
A yellow lemon, the classic sour citrus. People use it for lemonade, baking, tea with lemon and summer drinks, and it often signals sourness in a broader sense: a puckered reaction, a bitter mood or something that did not go to plan. The saying โwhen life gives you lemons, make lemonadeโ makes it a popular emoji for resilience. In American slang, a โlemonโ is also a faulty car or gadget that keeps breaking down.
๐ Lemon is an emoji from the Food & Drink category (fruits), added in Emoji 1.0 in 2015. People use it in messages about citrus, fruit and sour.
