What does 🤒 Face with Thermometer mean?
With a thermometer sticking out of its mouth, this face means one thing: fever. It tells others you are ill, under the weather or taking a sick day, and it often comes with an apology for canceling plans. Compared with 😷, which leans toward germs and caution, 🤒 is about actually feeling unwell right now and needing rest, soup and sympathy.
🤒 Face with Thermometer is an emoji from the Smileys & Emotion category (unwell faces), added in Emoji 1.0 in 2015. People use it in messages about ill and sick.
