The top of this head is bursting open, a literal picture of being “mind blown”. It expresses amazement at a surprising fact, a plot twist or a brilliant idea, and it can also mean being swamped by too much information. Some use it for frustration, as if their head might explode. The common thread is something too big to process calmly.
🤯 Exploding Head is an emoji from the Smileys & Emotion category (unwell faces), added in Emoji 5.0 in 2017. People use it in messages about blown, explode, mind, mindblown, no and shocked.
