What does 🥞 Pancakes mean?
A stack of pancakes with butter and syrup dripping down the sides. It signals breakfast, lazy weekend brunches and diner trips, and in the UK and Ireland it is the obvious emoji for Pancake Day on Shrove Tuesday. The phrase “flat as a pancake” gives it a jokey second use for anything squashed or completely level, but mostly it says sweet breakfast is on the way.
🥞 Pancakes is an emoji from the Food & Drink category (prepared foods), added in Emoji 3.0 in 2016. People use it in messages about breakfast, crêpe, food, hotcake and pancake.
