What does 🗺️ World Map mean?
A flat map of the world showing the continents and oceans. It is about planning and exploring rather than the planet itself: route ideas, bucket lists, geography quizzes and that itch to travel somewhere new. People also send it when they are lost and need directions, or when they are mapping out a plan in a broader sense. For a sense of direction or guidance, 🧭 is the closer match.
🗺️ World Map is an emoji from the Travel & Places category (maps & globes), added in Emoji 0.7 in 2014.
