What does ๐ Slightly Smiling Face mean?
A small, closed-mouth smile on an otherwise calm face. On paper it is the most neutral of the positive emojis, handy for polite replies, quick acknowledgements and friendly but professional chats. Tone depends heavily on context and on who is reading, though: many people see it as forced or quietly passive-aggressive, especially after a short reply like โfineโ. When warmth matters, ๐ or ๐ leaves less room for misunderstanding.
๐ Slightly Smiling Face is an emoji from the Smileys & Emotion category (smiling faces), added in Emoji 1.0 in 2015. People use it in messages about happy, smile and ok.
