What does 🫳 Palm Down Hand mean?
Turned palm-down, this open hand looks as though it is letting something fall or patting the air. It suits dropping things – a new song, a hot take, a mic – and it can shoo someone away or signal “calm down, settle”. It can also show height, like a kid who is “this tall”. Its flipped counterpart 🫴 faces palm-up and leans toward offering instead of dropping.
🫳 Palm Down Hand is an emoji from the People & Body category (hand gestures: open fingers), added in Emoji 14.0 in 2021. People use it in messages about dismiss, drop, dropped, pick, shoo and up.
