What does 😬 Grimacing Face mean?
Teeth clenched in a tight, stretched grimace, this face is the definition of “yikes”. It reacts to awkward situations, cringey moments, uncomfortable news or a mistake you are about to confess. It can also show nerves before something unpleasant, like a dentist visit. Because the bared teeth resemble a grin, it is sometimes mistaken for a happy face, but its real mood is tension.
😬 Grimacing Face is an emoji from the Smileys & Emotion category (neutral & skeptical faces), added in Emoji 1.0 in 2015. People use it in messages about awk, awkward, dentist, grimace, grinning and smile.
