What does Distorted Face mean?
A face that appears twisted out of shape, as the name suggests. It is one of the emojis introduced with Emoji 17.0 in 2025, so many older phones may not display it yet. It fits moments when feelings bend you out of shape: anxiety, panic, shock or being overwhelmed. It can also describe feeling uncomfortably bloated after a big meal. Its everyday uses are still taking shape.
Distorted Face is an emoji from the Smileys & Emotion category (concerned faces), added in Emoji 17.0 in 2025. People use it in messages about anxiety, bloated, panic, shocked, surprised and vulnerable. It is one of the newest emojis, so older phones and computers may not display it until they get a system update.
