What does 🐦⬛ Black Bird mean?
A black bird, made by combining 🐦 with a black square, usually read as a crow or raven. Crows are clever and slightly ominous, so it suits spooky season, gothic aesthetics and omens. Poe fans use it for The Raven, and bird lovers share it when crows visit their garden. It arrived in 2022, so some older phones show a regular bird next to a black square.
🐦⬛ Black Bird is an emoji from the Animals & Nature category (birds), added in Emoji 15.0 in 2022. People use it in messages about animal, beak, caw, corvid, crow and ornithology.
