What does ๐ Sports Medal mean?
A gold-coloured medal on a ribbon, the kind handed out at races and sporting events. It is often used for finishing a run, hitting a personal best or completing a challenge, whatever the final placing. Because it does not say first, second or third, it also makes a friendly participation award โ โyou tried, take a medalโ. For podium positions, ๐ฅ, ๐ฅ and ๐ฅ are more specific.
๐ Sports Medal is an emoji from the Activities category (awards & medals), added in Emoji 1.0 in 2015. People use it in messages about award, gold and winner.
