People post it while planning a week in the mountains, sharing fresh-snow reports or heading to après-ski. Snowboarders tend to pick 🏂 instead, while ⛷️ shows a skier in action rather than the equipment.
🎿 Skis is an emoji from the Activities category (sports equipment), added in Emoji 0.6 in 2010. People use it in messages about ski, snow and sport.
