A finger pressed to the lips asks for silence. This face is all about secrets and discretion: a surprise party, a plan that is not public yet or a confidence between friends. It can also playfully tell someone to keep quiet, or hint that you know more than you are letting on. Where 🤐 promises silence, 🤫 is usually asking for it.
🤫 Shushing Face is an emoji from the Smileys & Emotion category (faces with hands), added in Emoji 5.0 in 2017. People use it in messages about quiet, shh, shush and secret.
