What does ๐ Elephant mean?
A grey elephant with a raised or curled trunk. It famously stands for memory, since an elephant never forgets, and for the awkward topic nobody wants to mention: the elephant in the room. In the United States it is the symbol of the Republican Party, so it appears in political chatter. Elsewhere it represents wisdom and good fortune, and it is closely linked with Ganesha in Hindu tradition.
๐ Elephant is an emoji from the Animals & Nature category (mammals), added in Emoji 0.6 in 2010.
