A heavy division sign, a line with a dot above and below. It is about splitting: sharing a bill, dividing chores, cutting a pizza fairly. Students use it in maths chats, and it can also hint at a group or opinion that is divided down the middle. It is the emoji version of the ÷ key on a calculator.
➗ Divide is an emoji from the Symbols category (math symbols), added in Emoji 0.6 in 2010. People use it in messages about ÷, division, heavy, math and sign.
