Heart combos for every flag
Not every pride flag has its own emoji, so the community builds them from colored hearts. The bisexual flag becomes ๐ฉท๐๐, the lesbian flag ๐งก๐ค๐ฉท, the pansexual flag ๐ฉท๐๐ฉต and the nonbinary flag ๐๐ค๐๐ค, while the asexual flag works as ๐ค๐ฉถ๐ค๐. Pink, light blue and grey hearts arrived in 2022, which brought these combinations much closer to the real flag colors.
The rainbow and transgender flag emojis
The rainbow flag ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ reached emoji keyboards in 2016 and quickly became one of the most visible symbols of LGBTQ+ pride online. The transgender flag ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ, with the light blue, pink and white stripes designed by Monica Helms in 1999, followed in 2020. Both are built by joining a white flag with another emoji, so very old devices may show them as two separate symbols.
When is Pride?
In the United States and many other countries, June is Pride Month, commemorating the Stonewall uprising that began in New York in June 1969. Local Pride marches, however, take place throughout the year: Sydneyโs famous Mardi Gras parade happens in late summer there, around February or March, and many European cities hold their events between June and August. Your Pride emojis never go out of season.
