๐๐ฝThumbs Up: Medium Skin Tone Emoji
What does ๐๐ฝ Thumbs Up: Medium Skin Tone mean?
๐๐ฝ is the Thumbs Up emoji (๐) with a medium skin tone (๐ฝ, Fitzpatrick type 4) modifier. It means the same as the default yellow version; the skin tone simply lets people represent themselves or the person they are talking about.
Thumb up, fist closed: the best-known sign of approval. It says yes, okay, agreed, nice or got it, and it is the quickest way to confirm you saw a message. Tone matters, though. Between friends it feels easy and warm, but a single ๐ in reply to a long or emotional text can read as cold or dismissive. In some parts of the Middle East, the physical gesture has long been considered rude.
๐๐ฝ Thumbs Up: Medium Skin Tone is an emoji from the People & Body category (hand gestures: closed fingers), added in Emoji 1.0 in 2015. People use it in messages about +1, good, hand, like, thumb and yes.
