What does ☎️ Telephone mean?
A classic desk telephone with the handset resting in its cradle. It brings to mind landlines, office switchboards and customer hotlines, so it often sits next to contact numbers and “call us” lines in business posts. In chat it can be a playful “ring ring”, a request for a proper phone call, or a nod to retro style. For the act of talking on the phone, many people pick 📞 instead, while 📱 suggests a mobile.
☎️ Telephone is an emoji from the Objects category (phones), added in Emoji 0.6 in 2010.
