What does 😪 Sleepy Face mean?
Eyes closed with a droplet near the nose, this face is nodding off. In Japanese comics, a bubble from the nose is shorthand for being asleep, so the emoji is really about tiredness, naps and bedtime. Because the droplet looks a lot like a tear, many people also use it to express sadness, which is why it turns up in both sleepy and sad messages.
😪 Sleepy Face is an emoji from the Smileys & Emotion category (sleepy faces), added in Emoji 0.6 in 2010. People use it in messages about crying, good, night, sad, sleep and sleeping.
