What does 👻 Ghost mean?
A friendly cartoon ghost, more playful than frightening. It is a Halloween staple and also captures silliness and spooky fun. In dating slang, “ghosting” means cutting off contact suddenly without explanation, so this emoji often appears when someone has vanished from a chat. It can also announce your own quiet exit, as in “I’m out”.
👻 Ghost is an emoji from the Smileys & Emotion category (costume & character faces), added in Emoji 0.6 in 2010. People use it in messages about boo, creature, excited, face, fairy and fairytale.
